Who are We.....? Stuart.

Name:  Stuart Evans

Reason for doing challenge:   I lost my niece Sophie 12 years ago to cancer when she was 4 years old and though the years have passed, she is never far from our thoughts.  There was about 10 months from knowing something was wrong to the final hours and whilst at first it was not clear what it was, it became all too clear as time went on.

It is something I would not wish on my worst enemy and I hope I never have to experience it again in my lifetime and that cancer and other life threatening diseases are extinguished for good, sooner rather than later.
The help that was provided by the staff of Llandough hospital, Heath hospital and by the children's cancer charity, Latch was invaluable.  Whilst it was a difficult time for all affected, it was heartening knowing there were people who were able to give their time and experience at such a trying time and that there was charity funding available to assist with issues that, at such an emotive time you don't want to have to worry about such as onsite accommodation.  Knowing that any money raised for Tenovus will be put to good use will be the biggest motivation for me and will power my determination to get me up (and hopefully down the mountains) on the day(s).

Biggest challenge I face:  I have been married for 11 years and a desk jockey for about the same length of time and as such, I am not the beanpole I once was.

I am carrying the extra pounds these days, and as I have some mild breathing difficulties as a result of having Sarcoidosis (an auto immune system disease from which I suffer respiratory issues - though I haven't had a flare up in over a year), these make this a personal challenge to not only compete but also to complete the entire 3 peaks challenge.
