Take a look at this.......

Thank you to everyone who have donated so far! There's still lots of time to donate by clicking HERE

Who are we – Emma.

Name – Emma Rouse

Reason for doing this challenge – everyone will be affected by this horrendous disease in their lifetime, either directly or indirectly. It’s important that medical research, support networks and charities continue to receive funding from people like us so they are able to carry on with the excellent work. I hope that by taking part in this event, I will not only raise awareness of the tenovus charity but help to raise funds.
Biggest challenge I face – I’m a rubbish sleeper so I know that I will not be able to sleep in between mountains so I am a bit worried how that will impact on me. I also have a terrible sense of direction so will be armed with a walkie talkie, a whistle and a GPS. As for my mascara running…

Official Launch!!

Today saw the official launch of our Three Peaks Challenge, which took place in the 'Snowdon' Room of our office in Cardiff.

Tenovus were invited by the Legal Aid Agency Cardiff to give a talk about Cancer and how our current lifestyles can effect our chances of contracting it.
It was an interesting talk with Tenovus also explaining what they do and how they help those affected by Cancer in Wales.
The link to their current achievements is Here . I personally liked the 'Sing with Us' Choirs which offers a great way of people dealing with Cancer to have a unique musical outlet. The link for more information on this is Here .

Challenge leader James was on hand to officially accept our Tenovus tops on behalf of the Legal Aid Cardiff Team.

Some of the group posing with the top!
With another training session scheduled for Sunday where we will be doing the Brecon Horseshoe, the hard work continues for the team to get ready!

We'd love to hear from you via the message form on the right of this blog, leave a message in the comments boxes and most imporatantly.......PLEASE SPONSOR US BY CLICKING HERE

Who are We.....? Anthony.

Name: Anthony Evans

Reason for doing the challenge
There is probably not a family that isn’t affected by cancer in one way or another. I have family members now battling this awful disease. I have been fortunate in that my mother and cousin are cancer survivors but the effect it has on you is enormous. If by doing this helps in some small way it has to be worth it.

 Biggest challenge
I love my sleep and I can get grumpy without it so a slog up and down 3 challenging peaks with next to no sleep is going to push me to the limit! It’s also going to be tough not to drink too much real ale the night before in Betws Y Coed!

Who are We.....? Stuart.

Name:  Stuart Evans

Reason for doing challenge:   I lost my niece Sophie 12 years ago to cancer when she was 4 years old and though the years have passed, she is never far from our thoughts.  There was about 10 months from knowing something was wrong to the final hours and whilst at first it was not clear what it was, it became all too clear as time went on.

It is something I would not wish on my worst enemy and I hope I never have to experience it again in my lifetime and that cancer and other life threatening diseases are extinguished for good, sooner rather than later.
The help that was provided by the staff of Llandough hospital, Heath hospital and by the children's cancer charity, Latch was invaluable.  Whilst it was a difficult time for all affected, it was heartening knowing there were people who were able to give their time and experience at such a trying time and that there was charity funding available to assist with issues that, at such an emotive time you don't want to have to worry about such as onsite accommodation.  Knowing that any money raised for Tenovus will be put to good use will be the biggest motivation for me and will power my determination to get me up (and hopefully down the mountains) on the day(s).

Biggest challenge I face:  I have been married for 11 years and a desk jockey for about the same length of time and as such, I am not the beanpole I once was.

I am carrying the extra pounds these days, and as I have some mild breathing difficulties as a result of having Sarcoidosis (an auto immune system disease from which I suffer respiratory issues - though I haven't had a flare up in over a year), these make this a personal challenge to not only compete but also to complete the entire 3 peaks challenge.
